Energy in Motion
Jun 17, 2026
My mornings and evenings are sacred. Four days a week I lift weights. Every day I walk, I meditate, and I read a few pages of something that stretches my thinking. At night, I journal — closing the day the way I opened it, with intention.
That's not my entire routine — just a glimpse of my daily non-negotiables. None of it is optional. None of it is the first thing to go when life gets busy. And I protect it fiercely, because I think most people underestimate just how much is riding on it.
Think about a morning when everything lined up. You slept well. You moved your body. You ate something that actually fueled you instead of just filling you. And by the time your first call came in, you were sharp — present, clear, ready.
Now think about a morning when none of that happened. You were up too late. You skipped breakfast or grabbed whatever was fastest. You went straight from your pillow to your phone to your first call. And by midday, you were running — but running on fumes.
Same business. Same calls. Same opportunities. Completely different version of you showing up to meet them.
In this installment of Energy in Motion, we're talking about the physical energy influencer — the foundation everything else in this series sits on top of.
What physical energy actually is
Your energetic presentation is affected by your physical ability to move and take action — to actually do the things your day requires, whether that's a full schedule of client meetings, a tough conversation with an agent, or simply showing up sharp for a Tuesday morning call.
It comes down to a handful of foundational things: whether you're getting adequate sleep. Whether your nutrition is fueling you or depleting you. Whether you move your body regularly — not for aesthetics, but because movement is energy. And whether you're managing your overall health, including the aches, pains, and biomarkers most people ignore until they can't anymore.
The tell nobody notices they're giving
Here's what makes physical energy different from the other influencers we've covered — it's visible. It broadcasts. And most people have no idea they're sending the signal.
Picture a loan officer on a video call with an agent. They're depleted — didn't sleep well, skipped lunch, running on their fourth cup of coffee. Their shoulders are slumped. Their arms are crossed without them realizing it. Their voice is flatter than usual, the energy behind their words just a little thinner.
The agent on the other end can't name what's different. They just feel like something is a little off. Maybe this LO isn't quite as engaged as they used to be. Maybe they're not as on top of things. None of that may be true — but the impression forms anyway, in seconds, below the level of conscious thought.
Posture. Tone. Tempo. Facial expression. These are the tells of physical energy — and you are reading them in everyone you talk to, just as they are reading them in you, all day, every day, without either of you saying a word about it.
The gap between your baseline and your peak
Think back to that first morning — the one where everything lined up. That's you at your physical best: clear, focused, energized.
Now ask yourself honestly: how often during your workday are you actually operating from that place?
For most people, the gap between their peak state and their baseline state is much bigger than they realize — and they've simply normalized operating from the lower one. They've gotten so used to running on empty that running on empty has become their definition of normal.
Your physical energy isn't separate from your business. It's the operating system your business runs on.
The honest questions
If there's a gap between where you are and where you want to be, a few questions are worth sitting with.
What's one physical habit or pattern that might be quietly depleting your energy — making it harder to consistently show up for the activities that actually drive your results? It might be sleep. It might be how you're eating, or not eating, during the workday. It might be that you haven't moved your body in days.
What does your body need more of to help you show up energized and consistent for the work that matters most? And if you treated your physical energy like your most valuable business asset — because it is — what would you start doing differently?
One thing to try this week
Identify one small shift — just one — that would close even a little of the gap between your baseline and your peak. Not a complete overhaul. One shift, applied consistently.
Maybe it's protecting thirty minutes in the morning before the day takes over. Maybe it's a short walk between calls instead of scrolling your phone. Maybe it's simply going to bed twenty minutes earlier.
Whatever it is — this week, notice what changes. Not just in how you feel. In how you show up. In the conversations you have, the calls you make, the way people respond to you. That's the gap closing — one shift at a time. And it's the most direct path to building your business more consistently than you ever have.
